Component Testing Procedure

MULTIFUNCTION SWITCH, WIPER/WASHER PORTION COMPONENT TESTING (1 OF 2)

Circuit to test Connect ohmmeter to terminals Move switch to these positions A good switch will indicate
Washer switch circuit  2 and 4 Rear, Washer switch depressed Closed circuit
2 and 3 Closed circuit
2 and 4 Rear, Washer switch normal Open circuit
2 and 3 Open circuit
2 and 7 front Closed circuit
front Open circuit
Intermittent wiper circuit (front wiper)  2 and 1 minimum Closed circuit
2 and 6 Open circuit
2 and 8 Open circuit
2 and 5 Closed circuit
2 and 1 maximum Closed circuit
2 and 6 Open circuit
2 and 8 Closed circuit
2 and 5 Closed circuit


MULTIFUNCTION SWITCH, WIPER/WASHER PORTION COMPONENT TESTING (2 OF 2)

Circuit to test Connect self-powered test light or ohmmeter to terminals Move switch to these positions A good switch will indicate
Wiper switch circuit (rear wiper)  2 and 4 Intermitent Open circuit
2 and 3 Closed circuit
2 and 4 On Closed circuit
2 and 3 Closed circuit
2 and 4 Off Open circuit
2 and 3 Open circuit
Intermittent wiper circuit (front wiper)  2 and 1 Detent 1 Open circuit
2 and 6 Open circuit
2 and 8 Open circuit
2 and 5 Closed circuit
2 and 1 Detent 2 Open circuit
2 and 6 Closed circuit
2 and 8 Open circuit
2 and 5 Closed circuit
2 and 1 Detent 3 Open circuit
2 and 6 Closed circuit
2 and 8 Open circuit
2 and 5 Open circuit
2 and 1 Detent 4 Closed circuit
2 and 6 Closed circuit
2 and 8 Open circuit
2 and 5 Open circuit
