Spark Plugs: Removal

CAUTION: It is important to twist the spark plug wire boots while pulling along the axis of the spark plug to avoid possible damage to the spark plug wires.

Using the special tool, with a twisting motion disconnect the 6 spark plug wires from the spark plugs.
Use compressed air to remove any foreign material in the spark plug well before removing the spark plugs.

CAUTION: Only use hand tools when removing or installing the spark plugs, or damage can occur to the cylinder head or spark plug.

NOTE: For flexible fuel (FF) vehicles, if an original spark plug is reused, make sure it is installed in the same cylinder from which it was removed. New spark plugs can be used in any cylinder.

Remove the 6 spark plugs.
