FORD Special Service Message 21114: Vehicles equipped with TORQSHIFT AutomaticTransmission should be serviced with MERCON LV ATF in place of MERCON SP. This includes top off as well as fluid replacement. Mixing MERCON LV and MERCON SP in the TORQSHIFT transmission is acceptable. Use MERCON LV ATF to service vehicles equipped with TORQSHIFT transmission. When adding or replacing ATF in vehicle equipped with TORQSHIFT Transmission, Use MERCON LV ATF. |

Fill 1/4" to 9/16" (6 mm to 14 mm) below bottom of fill hole.
If the vehicle's rear axle is filled with a synthetic lubricant it is considered lubricated for life. Axle lubricant quantities should not need to be checked unless a leak is suspected, service is required or the axle assembly has been submerged in water. The axle lubricant should be changed any time the rear axle has been submerged in water. |
