Key Release Interlock Actuator





Removal and Installation

All vehicles
1. Place the ignition switch in the off position.
^ Remove key.
2. Remove the lower steering column opening cover.
^ Remove the 3 screws and pull out to release the top retaining clips and remove the lower steering column opening cover.





Vehicle with power tilt
3. Remove the 3 screws and the upper and lower steering column shrouds.
^ Disconnect the power tilt electrical connector switch from the lower shroud.
^ To install, tighten to 2 Nm (18 lb-in).

Vehicles with manual tilt
4. If equipped, release the tabs and slide the gear selector cover away from the steering column shrouds.
5. Remove the 3 screws and the upper and lower steering column shrouds.
^ To install, tighten to 2 Nm (18 lb-in).

All vehicles
6. Disconnect the key release interlock actuator electrical connector.





7. Remove and discard the locking clip.





8. Using a suitable tool, release the tab and remove the key release interlock actuator.





9. To install, reverse removal procedure.
