Selector Lever Mechanism: Installation
- Install the BSIA onto the selector lever mechanism.
- Pull the BSIA override button.
- Align the selector lever tab into the BSIA.
- Position and secure the BSIA with the clip.
- Install the screw.
- Install the selector lever mechanism into the vehicle, install the upper bolts and connect the BSIA electrical connector.
- Tighten to 6 Nm (53 lb-in).
- Install the selector lever mechanism lower bolt.
- Tighten to 6 Nm (53 lb-in).
- Install the selector lever.
- Tighten to 18 Nm (13 lb-ft).
- Connect the TC switch electrical connector and the harness into the retaining clips.
- Install the locking pin and the PLC.
- Connect the PLC.
- Install a new locking pin.
- Connect the selector lever cable.
- Position the IP cluster and install the LH lower IP cluster screw.
- Install the RH lower IP cluster screw.
- Install the upper IP cluster screws.
- Position the IP cluster trim and connect the dimmer switch electrical connector.
- If equipped, connect the in-vehicle temperature sensor connector.
- Install the LH IP cluster trim screw.
- Install the RH IP cluster trim screw.
- Install the IP cluster-to-shroud trim.
- Install the steering column upper shroud.
- Install the steering column lower shroud.
- Install the screws and the lower shroud.
- Install the instrument panel lower finish panel.
CAUTION:
To prevent cable damage, do not apply force to the selector lever cable assembly between the steering column selector lever arm and the steering column bracket.
