Remote Keyless Entry Transmitter Programming
NOTE:
A maximum of 4 remote keyless entry (RKE) transmitters can be programmed to the vehicle. Programming must be done at the same time for all the RKE transmitters.
NOTE:
Before entering the RKE transmitter programming mode, make sure the vehicle battery is fully charged and the anti-theft system is not armed or triggered (if equipped).
NOTE:
The doors must be electronically unlocked before beginning the programming procedure.
- Close all doors to make sure conflicting chimes do not sound during programming.
- Turn the ignition switch from the OFF position to the RUN position 4 times within 6 seconds.
- Turn the ignition switch to the OFF position.
- A chime sounds that indicates the learning mode has been accessed and it is possible to program the RKE transmitters.
- Within 20 seconds of the previous step, press any button on the RKE transmitter being programmed until a chime is heard. This indicates a new RKE transmitter code has been successfully programmed.
- After each successful RKE transmitter programming, another 20 second learning mode is automatically entered, up to a maximum of 4 times.
- To program additional RKE transmitters (up to 4), repeat Step 5.
- The system exits the learning mode if the ignition switch is turned to the RUN position, no new RKE transmitter is programmed during the 20 seconds, or if 4 RKE transmitters are programmed.
- After successful programming, only the newly programmed RKE transmitters are accepted.
- Test all the programmed RKE transmitters, by activating and deactivating the remote locking and unlocking functions.
NOTE:
An incorrect programming procedure does not affect the stored codes.
