Inspection and Verification: Notes
- Verify the customer concern.
- Verify the speedometer operates correctly without speed control by test driving the vehicle. If the speedometer does not operate correctly, refer to INSTRUMENT CLUSTER article.
- Verify the stoplamps operate correctly with the ignition switch in the OFF position. If the stoplamps do not operate correctly, refer to EXTERIOR LIGHTING article.
- Verify the horn operates correctly. If the horn does not operate correctly, refer to HORN article.
- Visually inspect the following for obvious signs of mechanical or electrical damage.VISUAL INSPECTION CHART
Mechanical Electrical - Speed control cable
- Speed control actuator
- Battery junction box (BJB) fuse 29 (10A) (speed control servo)
- Central junction box (CJB) fuse(s):
- 42 (10A) (speed control deactivator switch)
- 53 (10A) (speed control actuator)
- Circuitry
- Switches
- Speed control actuator
- If an obvious cause for an observed or reported concern is found, correct the cause (if possible) before proceeding to the next step.
- If the fault is not visually evident, verify the symptom and proceed to the Self-Test Diagnostics .
