Valve Cover - RH: Installation
- Using metal surface cleaner, clean the cylinder head mating surfaces.
- Apply a bead of silicone gasket and sealant in 2 places where the cylinder head and intake manifold meet.
- Install the valve cover gasket, if removed.
- Install the RH valve cover, 5 bolts and 3 stud bolts.
- Tighten to 12 Nm (9 lb-ft).
- Connect the PCV valve electrical connector.
- Attach the spark plug wire retainers to the valve cover stud bolts.
- Attach the fuel charging wiring harness to the valve cover studs.
- Attach the degas bottle hose to the valve cover studs.
- Install the upper intake manifold. For additional information, refer to Upper Intake Manifold .
NOTE:
Do not clean the valve cover gasket with solvent. Damage to the valve cover gasket may occur.
NOTE:
If the RH valve cover is not secured within 4 minutes, the sealant must be removed and the sealing area cleaned with metal surface cleaner. Allow to dry until there is no sign of wetness or 4 minutes, whichever is longer. Failure to follow this procedure can cause future oil leakage.
