Power Steering Pump: Installation
- Position the power steering pump and install the 3 power steering pump bolts.
- Tighten to 47 Nm (35 lb-ft).
- Using the special tool, install the power steering pump pulley.
- Connect the power steering return hose to the power steering pump.
- Connect the electrical connector.
- Using the special tool, install a new Teflon® O-ring seal on the power steering pressure line fitting.
- Connect the PSP line to the power steering pump.
- Tighten to 37 Nm (27 lb-ft).
- Rotate the tensioner counterclockwise and install the belt onto the power steering pump pulley.
- Fill and leak check the system. For additional information, refer to STEERING SYSTEM - GENERAL INFORMATION article.
NOTE:
The pulley must be installed within 0.25 mm (0.010 in) flush with the power steering pump shaft.
NOTE:
Whenever a line fitting with Teflon® O-ring seal is disconnected, a new Teflon® O-ring seal must be installed.
