Power Steering Pump: Installation

  1. Position the power steering pump and install the 3 power steering pump bolts.
    • Tighten to 47 Nm (35 lb-ft).
  2. NOTE: The pulley must be installed within 0.25 mm (0.010 in) flush with the power steering pump shaft.
  3. Using the special tool, install the power steering pump pulley.

  5. Connect the power steering return hose to the power steering pump.
  6. Connect the electrical connector.
  7. NOTE: Whenever a line fitting with Teflon® O-ring seal is disconnected, a new Teflon® O-ring seal must be installed.
  8. Using the special tool, install a new Teflon® O-ring seal on the power steering pressure line fitting.

  10. Connect the PSP line to the power steering pump.
    • Tighten to 37 Nm (27 lb-ft).
  11. Rotate the tensioner counterclockwise and install the belt onto the power steering pump pulley.
