Removal and Installation
1. Depower the supplemental restraint system (SRS). For additional information, refer to Supplemental Restraint System (SRS) in the General Procedures portion of Air Bag Systems.
2. Remove the 2 lower instrument panel steering column cover screws and the cover.
^ To install, tighten to 9 Nm (80 inch lbs).
3. Remove the 2 bolts and the instrument panel steering column opening cover reinforcement.
^ To install, tighten to 15 Nm (11 ft. lbs).
4. Disconnect the ignition switch electrical connector.
5. Remove the 2 ignition switch screws and the ignition switch.
^ To install, tighten to 7 Nm (62 inch lbs).
6. To install, reverse the removal procedure.
^ Repower the supplemental restraint system (SRS). For additional information, refer to Supplemental Restraint System (SRS) in the General Procedures portion of Air Bag Systems.
