The selector lever indicator does not correspond to the gear	Selector lever indicator adjustment	CHECK that the selector lever indicator adjustment is correct. REFER to Selector Lever Indicator Adjustment . ADJUST the selector lever indicator if necessary. TEST the system for normal operation. If the condition persists, go to Pinpoint Test B .
The selector lever is binding	Selector lever component(s) Internal transmission component(s)	Go to Pinpoint Test C .

The TCIL is illuminated continuously	Circuitry IC PCM	REFER to INSTRUMENT CLUSTER (IC), MESSAGE CENTER, & WARNING CHIMES article.
Water enters inside the vehicle	Selector lever cable rubber grommet	SECURE the grommet to the bulkhead.
	Torn selector lever cable rubber grommet	INSTALL a new selector lever cable and bracket. REFER to Selector Lever Cable and Bracket - Column Shift .
