Removal and Installation
All vehicles
1. Depower the supplemental restraint system (SRS). For additional information, refer to Air Bag Systems.
2. Remove the steering column opening cover.
^ Pull outward at the top of the cover to release the upper retainers.
^ Carefully pull upward and outward on the bottom of the cover to release the lower retainers located at the bottom corners of the cover.
Vehicles with tilt steering column
3. Release the steering column tilt lever.
All vehicles
4. Remove the 3 screws and the upper and lower steering column shrouds.
^ Press inward on the sides of the upper shroud and pull up to separate it from the lower shroud.
5. Disconnect the ignition switch electrical connector.
6. Release the 2 locking tabs and remove the ignition switch.
7. To install, reverse the removal procedure.
