Removal And Installation: Generator: Removal

  1. Disconnect the battery. For additional information, refer to BATTERY, MOUNTING AND CABLES .
  2. Position the generator protective cover aside, remove the B+ nut and position the B+ terminal aside.
  3. Disconnect the generator electrical connector and position the harness aside.
  4. Remove the cooling fan assembly. For additional information, refer to ENGINE COOLING .
  5. Rotate the accessory drive belt tensioner and remove the accessory drive belt from the generator.
  6. Remove the upper generator nut and stud.
  7. Loosen the lower generator bolt.
  8. Remove the generator.
