Transaxle Support Insulator: Removal
- With the vehicle in NEUTRAL, position it on a hoist. For additional information, refer to JACKING & LIFTING .
- Remove the 2 Y-pipe nuts, disconnect the exhaust hanger and discard the exhaust seal.
- Discard the gasket and nuts.
- Remove the 4 nuts, the Y-pipe assembly and discard the exhaust seals.
- Discard the nuts.
- Loosen the engine roll restrictor-to-subframe through bolt.
- Remove the 2 bolts from the roll restrictor bracket.
- Disconnect the Mass Air Flow (MAF) sensor electrical connector.
- Disconnect the engine breather from the Air Cleaner (ACL) assembly.
- Remove the 2 ACL assembly bracket bolts.
- Loosen the ACL outlet pipe clamp at the Throttle Body (TB) and remove the ACL and ACL outlet pipe assembly.
- Remove the battery. For additional information, refer to BATTERY, MOUNTING AND CABLES .
- Detach the wiring harness retainers from the battery tray.
- Remove the 2 lower battery tray bracket bolts.
- Remove the upper battery tray bolt and nut. Release the Power Distribution Box (PDB) fasteners. Remove the battery tray and bracket.
- Position a floor jack and the Oil Pan Holding Fixture under the oil pan and raise the floor jack high enough to release the pressure on the transaxle support insulator.
- Remove the transaxle support insulator through bolt.
- Remove the flagnut.
- Using the floor jack and Oil Pan Holding Fixture, release the tension from the transaxle support insulator through bolt to remove it from the transaxle mount.
- Lower the transaxle from the mount about 50.8 mm (2 in).
- Remove the 4 nuts and the transaxle support insulator bracket.
- Remove the top transaxle support insulator bolts.
- Remove the bottom transaxle support insulator bolts and remove the transaxle support insulator.
NOTE:
The Oil Pan Holding Fixture must be carefully aligned to the mounting bosses on the oil pan. Failure to follow these instructions may result in damage to the oil pan.
