Park |
The transaxle will be locked and the vehicle will be stationary in PARK. The engine will start. The selector lever can only be moved out of the PARK position if the ignition is turned to the ON position and the brake pedal is pressed. In an emergency (battery discharged), the selector lever can be unlocked manually. Refer to Brake Shift Interlock Override . |

Reverse |
Only will engage when the vehicle is stationary and the engine is idling. Vehicle will move in the rearward direction. |

Neutral |
The engine can be started - no power transfer to the driving wheels. |

Gears 1 to 4 with Overdrive (O/D) |
Position for normal driving. All 4 gears are shifted electronically. Vehicle will move in the forward direction. When the engine is stopped, this mode of operation is automatically enabled. |

Gears 1 to 3 without O/D |
Position for normal driving, but without 4th gear. Vehicle will move in the forward direction. |

Low |
The transaxle is either in 1st or 2nd gear. Vehicle will move in the forward direction. Used primarily for hilly terrain. |
