Smart Junction Box (SJB) DTC Chart

DTC Description Action
B106E Solid State Driver Disabled Due to Short Circuit The module has temporarily disabled an output because an excessive current draw exists (such as a short to ground). The Smart Junction Box (SJB) cannot enable the output until the cause of the short is corrected. ADDRESS all other DTCs first.  After the cause of the concern is corrected, CLEAR the DTCs. REPEAT the self-test.
B106F Module Disabled Due to External Fault The module has permanently disabled an output because an excessive current draw fault (such as a short to ground) has exceeded the limits that the SJB can withstand. The cause of the excessive current draw MUST be corrected before a new SJB is installed. ADDRESS all other DTCs first. After the cause of the concern is corrected, INSTALL a new SJB  . REFER to MULTIFUNCTION ELECTRONIC MODULES . TEST the system for normal operation.

B2049 Left Rear Turn Lamp Circuit Open For Explorer or Explorer Sport Trac, if the lamp is inoperative, GO to PINPOINT TEST I .
For Explorer or Explorer Sport Trac, if the lamp is always on, GO to PINPOINT TEST J .
For Mountaineer, GO to PINPOINT TEST M .
B2050 Right Rear Turn Lamp Circuit Short to Ground For Explorer or Explorer Sport Trac, GO to PINPOINT TEST I .
For Mountaineer, GO to PINPOINT TEST M .
B2051 Right Rear Turn Lamp Circuit Open For Explorer or Explorer Sport Trac, if the lamp is inoperative, GO to PINPOINT TEST I .
For Explorer or Explorer Sport Trac, if the lamp is always on, GO to PINPOINT TEST J .
For Mountaineer, GO to PINPOINT TEST M .
B2070 Trailer Tow Relay Coil(s) Circuit Failure A continuous DTC that sets when the SJB  detects a short to ground from the LH/RH trailer stop/turn lamp voltage supply circuit. The self-test must be run after the repair in order for the SJB  to enable the output for the LH/RH trailer stop/turn lamp voltage supply. A trailer equipped with too many LH/RH stop/turn bulbs may also set the DTC.
If the LH/RH trailer stoplamp is inoperative, GO to PINPOINT TEST Z .
B2071 Hazard Switch Signal Short to Ground GO to PINPOINT TEST N .
B2254 Front Fog Lamp Switch Failure GO to PINPOINT TEST S .
B2281 Right Turn Switch Short to Ground GO to PINPOINT TEST L .
B2282 Left Turn Switch Short to Ground GO to PINPOINT TEST L .
B2382 Backup Light Relay Circuit - Open CLEAR the DTC. REPEAT the on-demand self-test. If DTC B2382 is retrieved again, INSTALL a new SJB  . REFER to MULTIFUNCTION ELECTRONIC MODULES . TEST the system for normal operation.
B2407 Backup Light Relay Circuit - High CLEAR the DTC. REPEAT the on-demand self-test. If DTC B2407 is retrieved again, INSTALL a new SJB  . REFER to MULTIFUNCTION ELECTRONIC MODULES . TEST the system for normal operation.
B2501 LF Lamp Low Beam Circuit Failure If the low beam is inoperative, GO to PINPOINT TEST B .
If the low beam is always on, GO to PINPOINT TEST D .
B2503 RF Lamp Low Beam Circuit Failure If the low beam is inoperative, GO to PINPOINT TEST B .
If the low beam is always on, GO to PINPOINT TEST D .
B2505 LF Lamp High Beam Circuit Failure If the high beam is inoperative, GO to PINPOINT TEST C .
If the high beam is always on, GO to PINPOINT TEST D .
B2507 RF Lamp High Beam Circuit Failure If the high beam is inoperative, GO to PINPOINT TEST C .
If the high beam is always on, GO to PINPOINT TEST D .
B2512 Front Fog Lamp Relay Ckt Short to Battery If the fog lamps are inoperative, GO to PINPOINT TEST Q .
If the fog lamps are always on, GO to PINPOINT TEST S .
C1446 Brake Switch Circuit Failure GO to PINPOINT TEST J .
C1788 Stoplamp Relay Output Circuit Short to Ground GO to PINPOINT TEST I .
C1961 Park Lamp Relay Coil Circuit Failure INSTALL a new SJB  . REFER to MULTIFUNCTION ELECTRONIC MODULES . TEST the system for normal operation.
All other DTCs - REFER to the Diagnostic Trouble Code (DTC) Chart in MULTIFUNCTION ELECTRONIC MODULES .
