Passive Anti-Theft System
INSTRUMENT CLUSTER (IC) DIAGNOSTIC TROUBLE CODE (DTC) LIST
| DTC | Description | Action |
|---|---|---|
| B1015 | CEI Unconfigured | The Instrument Cluster (IC) Configurable Engine Immobilizer (CEI) was not locked after being configured for PATS at the assembly plant or the Cluster Service Center. After the mileage limit was reached, it self-locked. This DTC may not be able to be erased. INSTALL a new IC. REFER to INFORMATION CENTER - INSTRUMENTATION AND WARNING CHIMES article. RESET the parameters in the IC and the PCM. REFER to PASSIVE ANTI-THEFT SYSTEM (PATS) PARAMETER RESET . PROGRAM the PATS keys into the new IC. REFER to KEY PROGRAMMING USING DIAGNOSTIC EQUIPMENT . CYCLE the ignition. REPEAT the self-test. |
| B1213 | Anti-Theft Number of Programmed Keys is Below Minimum | If DTC B1600, B1601, B1602, B1681 or B2103 is present, they must be addressed first. If DTC B1213 is the only DTC present, PROGRAM additional keys. REFER to KEY PROGRAMMING USING DIAGNOSTIC EQUIPMENT . CLEAR the DTCs. CYCLE the ignition. REPEAT the self-test. |
| B1342 | ECU is Faulted | CLEAR the DTCs. CYCLE the ignition. REPEAT the self-test. If DTC B1342 is retrieved again, INSTALL a new IC. |
| B1600 | PATS Ignition Key Transponder Signal is Not Received | GO to PINPOINT TEST B . |
| B1601 | PATS Received Incorrect Key-Code From Ignition Key Transponder | GO to PINPOINT TEST C . |
| B1602 | PATS Received Invalid Format of Key-Code From Ignition Key Transponder | GO to PINPOINT TEST D . |
| B1681 | PATS Transceiver Module Signal is Not Received | GO to PINPOINT TEST E . |
| B2103 | Antenna Not Connected | GO to PINPOINT TEST A . |
| B2141 | NVM Configuration Failure | There is no PCM ID stored in the IC. CARRY OUT a parameter reset of the IC and the PCM. REFER to PASSIVE ANTI-THEFT SYSTEM (PATS) PARAMETER RESET . CYCLE the ignition, and then attempt to start the vehicle. |
| B2431 | Transponder Programming Failed | The ignition key was not programmed. PROGRAM the key. REFER to KEY PROGRAMMING USING DIAGNOSTIC EQUIPMENT . CLEAR the DTCs. CYCLE the ignition. REPEAT the self-test. |
| U0100 | Lost Communication With ECM/PCM If DTCs U0100 and U2510 are both present, address DTC U2510 first. | GO to PINPOINT TEST G . |
| U2510 | CAN - Invalid Data for Vehicle Security | CARRY OUT a parameter reset of the IC and the PCM and CYCLE the ignition 3-5 times, making an attempt to start the vehicle each key cycle. REFER to PASSIVE ANTI-THEFT SYSTEM (PATS) PARAMETER RESET . CLEAR the DTCs. CYCLE the ignition. REPEAT the self-test. |
| U2511 | CAN - Data Mis-Match (Receive Data Does Not Match Expected) |
NOTE:
If DTCs U2510 and U2511 are both present, address DTC U2510 first. GO to PINPOINT TEST G
. |
| All other DTCs | - | REFER to the Diagnostic Trouble Code (DTC) Chart in INFORMATION CENTER - INSTRUMENTATION AND WARNING CHIMES article. |
PCM DIAGNOSTIC TROUBLE CODE (DTC) LIST
| DTC | Description | Action |
|---|---|---|
| P1260 | Theft Detected, Vehicle Immobilized |
NOTE:
This DTC usually accompanies Passive Anti-Theft System (PATS) DTCs in the Instrument Cluster (IC). If the vehicle is not equipped with PATS, this PCM DTC can indicate the parameters in the IC and the PCM need to be reset or a power or ground issue with the PCM. This PCM DTC can set in vehicles with or without PATS. Clear the DTCs. Repeat the self-test. If there are any PATS DTCs present in the IC, ADDRESS them first. This DTC can also indicate a Controller Area Network (CAN) or a parameter reset concern. MAKE SURE to verify if there are any communication concerns/DTCs with any modules. REFER to
MODULE COMMUNICATIONS NETWORK
article. If DTC P1260 is the only DTC present, there may be a parameter reset concern or a power or ground concern with the PCM. Even if the vehicle does not have PATS, it still has parameters that may need to be reset. REFER to PASSIVE ANTI-THEFT SYSTEM (PATS) PARAMETER RESET
. If necessary, CHECK the powers and grounds to the PCM. REFER to the
SYSTEM WIRING DIAGRAMS
article. |
| P1602 | Immobilizer/ECM Communication Error |
NOTE:
If IC DTC U2510 is also present, address IPC DTC U2510 first. GO to PINPOINT TEST G
. |
| P1622 | Immobilizer ID Does Not Match | CARRY OUT a parameter reset. REFER to PASSIVE ANTI-THEFT SYSTEM (PATS) PARAMETER RESET . CLEAR the DTCs. CYCLE the ignition 3-5 times, making an attempt to start the vehicle each key cycle. REPEAT the self-test. |
