Pinpoint Test

CHECK THE COMMUNICATION NETWORK
1. Ignition ON.
2. Using a scan tool, carry out the network test.
Does the PCM pass the network test?
1. Yes: GO to 2 .
2. No: REFER to DIAGNOSTIC ROUTINE A : The Powertrain Control Module (PCM) Does Not Respond To The Scan Tool.
CHECK THE ABS CMDTCs
1. Ignition ON.
2. Using a scan tool, carry out the ABS module self-test.
3. Clear the DTCs .
4. Ignition OFF.
5. Ignition ON.
6. Using a scan tool, carry out the ABS module self-test.
7. Record the ABS module DTCs .
Is DTC U0100:00 retrieved again?
1. Yes: GO to 3 .
2. No: The system is operating correctly at this time. The DTC may have been set due to high network traffic or an intermittent fault condition.
REVIEW THE RECORDED DTCs FROM THE ABS SELF-TEST
1. Check the recorded DTCs from the ABS self-test.
Is DTC U3003:16 or U3003:17 present?
1. Yes:
  For DTC U3003:16, REFER to Diagnostic Routine A : U3003:16.
  
  For DTC U3003:17, REFER to Diagnostic Routine P : U3003:17.
2. No: GO to 4 .
CHECK FOR DTCs IN THE PCM
1. Using a scan tool, carry out the PCM KOEO self-test.
Is DTC P0562 or P0563 present?
1. Yes:
  For DTC P0563, REFER to DIAGNOSTIC ROUTINE A : System Voltage High.
  
  For DTC P0562, REFER to DIAGNOSTIC ROUTINE B : System Voltage Low or Battery is Discharged.
2. No: GO to 5 .
CHECK FOR DTC U0100:00 SET IN OTHER MODULES
1. Ignition ON.
2. Using a scan tool, carry out the self-test for all modules.
3. Retrieve the CMDTCs from all modules.
Is DTC U0100:00 set in the BCM or in the PSCM?
1. Yes: CHECK OASIS for any applicable TSBs . If a TSB exists for this concern, DISCONTINUE this test and FOLLOW the TSB instructions. If no TSBs address this concern, INSTALL a new PCM. REFER to POWERTRAIN CONTROL MODULE (PCM) - 2.0L GTDI or POWERTRAIN CONTROL MODULE (PCM) - 3.5L TI-VCT .
2. No: CHECK OASIS for any applicable TSBs . If a TSB exists for this concern, DISCONTINUE this test and FOLLOW the TSB instructions.
  If no TSBs address this concern and the vehicle is not equipped with adaptive cruise control, INSTALL a new ABS module. REFER to Anti-Lock Brake System (ABS) Module .
  
  If no TSBs address this concern and the vehicle is equipped with adaptive cruise control, INSTALL a new ABS module and HCU. REFER to Hydraulic Control Unit (HCU) . Note ABS module and HCU are removed as an assembly.
