Pinpoint Test

CHECK THE COMMUNICATION NETWORK
1. Ignition ON.
2. Using a scan tool, carry out the network test.
Does the BCM pass the network test?
1. Yes: GO to 2 .
2. No: REFER to DIAGNOSTIC ROUTINE I : The Body Control Module (BCM) Does Not Respond To The Scan Tool.
CHECK THE ABS MODULE CMDTCs
1. Using a scan tool, carry out the ABS module self-test.
2. Clear the DTCs .
3. Ignition OFF.
4. Ignition ON.
5. Repeat the ABS module self-test.
6. Record the ABS module DTCs .
Is DTC U0140:00 retrieved again?
1. Yes: GO to 3 .
2. No: The system is operating correctly at this time. The DTC may have been set due to high network traffic or an intermittent fault condition.
REVIEW THE RECORDED DTCs FROM THE ABS MODULE SELF-TEST
1. Check the recorded DTCs from the ABS module self-test.
Is DTC U3003:16 or U3003:17 present?
1. Yes:
  For DTC U3003:16, REFER to Diagnostic Routine A : U3003:16.
  
  For DTC U3003:17, REFER to Diagnostic Routine P : U3003:17.
2. No: GO to 4 .
CHECK FOR DTCs IN THE BCM
1. Using a scan tool, carry out the BCM self-test.
Is DTC U3003:16 or U3003:17 present?
1. Yes:
  For DTC U3003:16, REFER to DIAGNOSTIC ROUTINE H : U3003:16.
  
  For DTC U3003:17, REFER to DIAGNOSTIC ROUTINE I : U3003:17.
2. No: GO to 5 .
CHECK FOR DTC U0140:00 SET IN OTHER MODULES
1. Using the scan tool, carry out the self-test for all modules.
2. Retrieve and record the CMDTCs from all modules.
Is DTC U0140:00 set in any other module?
1. Yes: CHECK OASIS for any applicable TSBs . If a TSB exists for this concern, discontinue this test and follow TSB instructions. If no TSBs address this concern, INSTALL a new BCM. REFER to BODY CONTROL MODULE (BCM) - WITH INTELLIGENT ACCESS (IA) or BODY CONTROL MODULE (BCM) - WITHOUT INTELLIGENT ACCESS (IA) .
2. No: CHECK OASIS for any applicable TSBs . If a TSB exists for this concern, DISCONTINUE this test and FOLLOW the TSB instructions.
  If no TSBs address this concern and the vehicle is not equipped with adaptive cruise control, INSTALL a new ABS module. REFER to Anti-Lock Brake System (ABS) Module .
  
  If no TSBs address this concern and the vehicle is equipped with adaptive cruise control, INSTALL a new ABS module and HCU. REFER to Hydraulic Control Unit (HCU) . Note ABS module and HCU are removed as an assembly.
