Pinpoint Test
- CHECK THE COMMUNICATION NETWORK
- Ignition ON.
- Using a scan tool, carry out the network test.
Does the RCM pass the network test?
- Yes: GO to 2 .
- No: REFER to DIAGNOSTIC ROUTINE C : The Restraints Control Module (RCM) Does Not Respond To The Scan Tool to diagnose no communication with the BCM.
- CHECK THE ABS MODULE CMDTCs
- Using a scan tool, carry out the ABS module self-test.
- Clear the DTCs .
- Ignition OFF.
- Ignition ON.
- Repeat the ABS module self-test.
- Record the ABS module DTCs .
Is DTC U0151:00 retrieved again?
- Yes: GO to 3 .
- No: The system is operating correctly at this time. The DTC may have been set due to high network traffic or an intermittent fault condition.
- REVIEW THE RECORDED DTCs
FROM THE ABS MODULE SELF-TEST
- Check the recorded DTCs from the ABS module self-test.
Is DTC U3003:16 or U3003:17 present?
- Yes:
For DTC U3003:16, REFER to Diagnostic Routine A : U3003:16.
For DTC U3003:17, REFER to Diagnostic Routine P : U3003:17.
- No: GO to 4 .
- CHECK FOR DTCs
IN THE RCM
- Using a scan tool, carry out the RCM self-test.
Is DTC U3003:16 or U3003:17 present?
- Yes: REFER to DIAGNOSTIC ROUTINE Y : U3003:16 and U3003:17.
- No: GO to 5 .
- CHECK FOR DTC U0151:00 SET IN OTHER MODULES
- Using the scan tool, carry out the self-test for all modules.
- Retrieve and record the CMDTCs from all modules.
Is DTC U0151:00 set in any other module?
- Yes: CHECK OASIS for any applicable TSBs . If a TSB exists for this concern, DISCONTINUE this test and FOLLOW TSB instructions. If no TSBs address this concern, INSTALL a new RCM. REFER to RESTRAINTS CONTROL MODULE (RCM) .
- No: CHECK OASIS
for any applicable TSBs
. If a TSB exists for this concern, DISCONTINUE this test and FOLLOW the TSB instructions.
If no TSBs address this concern and the vehicle is not equipped with adaptive cruise control, INSTALL a new ABS module. REFER to Anti-Lock Brake System (ABS) Module .
If no TSBs address this concern and the vehicle is equipped with adaptive cruise control, INSTALL a new ABS module and HCU. REFER to Hydraulic Control Unit (HCU) . Note ABS module and HCU are removed as an assembly.
