If the scan tool is unable to communicate with the PCM or access the transmission PIDs

- Read and record all DTCs
- Install the scan tool and record all DTCs
.
Is DTC P0815 set?
- Yes: GO to 2 .
- No: For DTC P0816, GO to 6.
- Install the scan tool and record all DTCs
.
- Check the upshift signal circuit for voltage
- Ignition OFF.
- Disconnect the selector lever C2008.
- Inspect for damaged or pushed out terminals.
- Ignition ON.
- Measure the voltage on circuit CET43 (GY) from the selector lever C2008-9 to ground.
Selector Lever Ground C2008 Ground Pin Circuit Measurement / Action Pin Circuit 9 CET43 (GY) Ground Ground Is the voltage greater than 10 volts?
- Yes: GO to 5.
- No: GO to 3 .
- Check the upshift signal circuit for an open
- Ignition OFF.
- Disconnect the PCM C175B.
- Inspect for damaged or pushed out terminals.
- Measure the resistance of circuit CET43 (GY) from selector lever C2008-9 to the PCM C175B-23.
Selector Lever PCM C2008 C175B Pin Circuit Measurement / Action Pin Circuit 9 CET43 (GY) 23 CET43 (GY) - Yes: GO to 4 .
- No: For REPAIR circuit CET43 (GY) for an open. CLEAR the DTC . TEST the system for normal operation.
- Check the upshift signal circuit for a short to ground
- Measure the resistance of circuit CET43 (GY) from selector lever C2008-9 to ground.
Selector Lever Ground C2008 Ground Pin Circuit Measurement / Action Pin Circuit 9 CET43 (GY) Ground Ground Is the resistance greater than 10, 000 ohms?
- Yes: REPLACE the PCM. PROGRAM the PCM with the latest calibration level. PERFORM the Solenoid Body Strategy Data Download procedure. REFER to SOLENOID BODY STRATEGY DOWNLOAD . TEST the system for normal operation.
- No: REPAIR circuit CET43 (GY) for a short to ground. CLEAR the DTC. TEST the system for normal operation.
- Check the signal return circuit for an open
- Connect the PCM C175B.
- Ignition ON.
- Measure the voltage from circuit CET43 (GY) from selector lever C2008-9 and circuit RE407 (YE/VT) selector lever C2008-8.
Selector Lever Selector Lever C2008 C2008 Pin Circuit Measurement / Action Pin Circuit 9 RE407 (YE/VT) 8 RE407 (YE/VT) Is the voltage greater than 10 volts?
- Yes: INSTALL a new selector lever. REFER to SELECTOR LEVER . CLEAR the DTC. TEST the system for normal operation.
- No: REPAIR the signal return circuit RE407 (YE/VT) for an open. CLEAR the DTC. TEST the system for normal operation.
- Check the downshift signal circuit for voltage
- Ignition OFF.
- Disconnect the selector lever C2008.
- Inspect for damaged or pushed out terminals.
- Ignition ON.
- Measure the voltage on circuit CET42 (GN/VT) from selector lever C2008-10 to ground.
Selector Lever Ground C2008 Ground Pin Circuit Measurement / Action Pin Circuit 10 CET42 (GN/VT) Ground Ground
Is the voltage greater than 10 volts?
- Yes: GO to 9.
- No: GO to 7 .
- Check the downshift signal circuit for an open
- Ignition OFF.
- Disconnect the PCM C175B.
- Inspect for damaged or pushed out terminals.
- Measure the resistance of circuit CET42 (GN/VT) from selector lever C2008-10 to the PCM C175B-24.
Selector Lever PCM C2008 C175B Pin Circuit Measurement / Action Pin Circuit 10 CET42 (GN/VT) 24 CET42 (GN/VT)
Is the resistance less than 5 ohms?
- Yes: GO to 8 .
- No: REPAIR circuit CET42 (GN/VT) for an open. CLEAR the DTC. TEST the system for normal operation.
- Check the downshift signal circuit for a short to ground
- Measure the resistance of circuit CET42 (GN/VT) from selector lever C2008-10 to ground.
Selector Lever Ground C2008 Ground Pin Circuit Measurement / Action Pin Circuit 10 CET42 (GN/VT) Ground Ground
Is the resistance greater than 10, 000 ohms?

- Check the signal return circuit for an open
- Connect PCM C175B.
- Ignition ON.
- Measure the voltage from circuit CET42 (GN/VT) from selector lever C2008-10 and circuit RE407 (YE/VT) selector lever C2008-8.

- Yes: INSTALL a new selector lever. REFER to SELECTOR LEVER . CLEAR the DTC. TEST the system for normal operation.
- No: REPAIR the signal return circuit RE407 (YE/VT) for an open. CLEAR the DTC. TEST the system for normal operation.
