Pinpoint Test
NOTE:
If the scan tool is unable to communicate with the PCM or access the transmission PIDs

INTRODUCTION - GASOLINE MODELS

- Read and record all DTCs
- Install the scan tool and record all DTCs .
Was DTC B1319:11 set?
- Yes: GO to 2 .
- No: The issue may not be the BSIA system. REFER to SYMPTOM CHART: EXTERNAL CONTROLS .
- Check BCM FUSE 18 (10A)
- Ignition OFF.
- Remove the BCM fuse 18 (10A).
- Check the BCM fuse 18 (10A).
Is the resistance less than 5 ohms?
- Yes: GO to 3 .
- No: GO to 4.
- Check the BCM for an internal short
- Disconnect the BCM C2280B.
- Inspect for damaged or pushed out terminals.
- Install a new fuse.
Did the fuse fail?
- Yes: INSTALL a new BCM. REFER to BODY CONTROL MODULE (BCM) - WITH INTELLIGENT ACCESS (IA) Or BODY CONTROL MODULE (BCM) - WITHOUT INTELLIGENT ACCESS (IA) .
- No: GO to 4 .
- Check the BSIA power circuit for a short to ground
- Disconnect the selector lever C2008.
- Inspect for damaged or pushed out terminals.
- Measure the resistance of circuit CET53 (BU/OG) from the selector lever C2008-3 to ground.
Selector Lever Ground C2008 Ground Pin Circuit Measurement / Action Pin Circuit 3 CET43 (BU/OG) Ground Ground Is the resistance greater than 10, 000 ohms?
- Yes: INSTALL a new selector lever. REFER to SELECTOR LEVER .
- No: REPAIR circuit CET53 (BU/OG) for a short to ground. CLEAR the DTC. TEST the system for normal operation.
