Removal And Installation: Generator: Installation

All vehicles 

1. Install the generator and hand-tighten the lower generator bolt.
2. Install the upper generator stud and nut.
   • Tighten the generator stud to 8 Nm (71 lb-in).
   • Tighten the generator nut to 47 Nm (35 lb-ft).
3. Tighten the lower generator bolt to 47 Nm (35 lb-ft).

   3.5L GTDI vehicles 

4. Install the A/C compressor. For additional information, refer to CLIMATE CONTROL .

   3.5L non-GTDI and 3.7L vehicles 

5. Rotate the accessory drive belt tensioner and install the accessory drive belt on the generator.
6. Install the cooling fan assembly. For additional information, refer to ENGINE COOLING .

   All vehicles 

7. Connect the generator electrical connector.
8. Install the generator B+ terminal and tighten the B+ terminal nut to 17 Nm (150 lb-in).

   3.7L vehicles 

9. Install the upper radiator support cradle and reposition the upper radiator hose.

   All vehicles 

10. Install the engine cover.
11. Connect the battery cable. For additional information, refer to BATTERY, MOUNTING AND CABLES .
