DTC U2001: Reduced System Function: Action

This DTC sets if the clockspring tape temperature exceeds 95°C (203°F) for 10 seconds or 105°C (221°F) for less than 500 milliseconds. DIAGNOSE all other SASM DTCs before diagnosing DTC U2001:98. CARRY OUT the SASM Module Reset routine. CYCLE the ignition from ON to OFF and back to ON. CLEAR the DTC and then CARRY OUT the SASM self-test. If the DTC returns, INSTALL a new SASM-clockspring assembly. REFER to the CLOCKSPRING or CLOCKSPRING - VEHICLES WITH: ADAPTIVE STEERING .
