Seat Backrest Second Row, 40 Percent: Disassembly

NOTE: Seat without inflatable safety belts shown. Limo, livery and seat with inflatable safety belts similar.

  1. 1.

    Remove the seat backrest. For additional information, refer to Seat Backrest - Second Row, 40 Percent  in this service information.

  1. 2.

    Remove the head restraint guide sleeves. For additional information, refer to Head Restraint Guide Sleeve  in this service information.

  1. 3.

    NOTE: Use care when separating the backrest cover from the hook-and-loop strip, or the hook-and-loop strip may be torn from the backrest foam pad.

    Separate the hook-and-loop strips, invert the backrest cover, remove the hog rings and the backrest cover.

  1. 4.

    If equipped, disconnect the backrest heater mat electrical connector.

  1. 5.

    Remove the backrest foam pad from the frame.

  1. 6.

    Separate the electrical connector pin-type retainer, remove the 3 screws, disengage from the hard back panel and remove the backrest Thermo-Electric Device (TED).

  1. 7.

    Disengage the cable retainer, drill the rivet out, disengage the retaining clips and remove the power lumbar.

  1. 8.

    Remove 2 screws, release the 4 pin-type retainers and remove the hard back panel.

  1. 9.

    To assemble, reverse the disassembly procedure.
