Power Steering Pump: Installation
- Using the Teflon® Seal Installer Set, install a new Teflon® seal on the power steering pressure line fitting.
- Holding the power steering pump with a punch inserted into a mounting cavity, connect the pressure line fitting-to-power steering pump.
- Tighten to 75 Nm (55 lb-ft).
- Position the power steering pump and install the 3 bolts.
- Tighten to 25 Nm (18 lb-ft).
- Position the bracket and install the pressure line bracket-to-engine bolt.
- Tighten to 9 Nm (80 lb-in).
- Release the clamp and connect the power steering fluid cooler-to-pump supply hose.
- Attach the supply hose retainer to the pressure line bracket.
- Using the Stretchy Belt Installer Tool, install the power steering pump belt onto the power steering pump pulley.
- Install the Stretchy Belt Installer Tool, between the power steering pump belt and pulley and turn the crankshaft bolt clockwise.
- Install the RH inner fender splash shield. For additional information, refer to FRONT END BODY PANELS .
- Fill the power steering system. For additional information, refer to STEERING SYSTEM - HYDRAULIC POWER ASSIST STEERING (HPAS) .
NOTE:
A new Teflon® seal must be installed any time the pressure line is disconnected from the power steering pump or a fluid leak may occur.
