This automatic transaxle is a 6-speed transaxle with electronic shift control. It is designed for operation in a transverse powertrain for Front Wheel Drive (FWD) and All-Wheel Drive (AWD) vehicles.

This transaxle has a 4-element torque converter design, which includes a Torque Converter Clutch (TCC) and a geartrain with 3 planetary gearsets.

The hydraulic control system of this transaxle uses a solenoid body with 7 electronically controlled solenoids for:

• Shift feel (through line pressure control and shift pressure control)
• Shift scheduling and timing
• TCC operation
