Removal And Installation: Generator: Removal

All vehicles 

1. Disconnect the battery. For additional information, refer to BATTERY, MOUNTING AND CABLES .
2. Remove the engine cover.

   3.5L Non-Gasoline Turbocharged Direct Injection (GTDI) vehicles 

3. Position the upper radiator hose aside and remove the radiator hose support cradle.
4. Rotate the accessory drive belt tensioner and remove the accessory drive belt from the generator.

   3.5L GTDI vehicles 

5. Remove A/C compressor. For additional information, refer to CLIMATE CONTROL .

   All vehicles 

6. Position the generator protective cover aside, remove the B+ nut and position the B+ terminal aside.
7. Disconnect the generator electrical connector and position the harness aside.
8. Remove the upper generator nut and loosen the lower generator bolt completely. Leave the bolt in the generator.
9. Remove the upper generator stud.
10. Remove the generator.
