Test Procedure

  1. AN1 VERIFY CORRECT PTO OPERATION 
    • Ignition OFF.
    • Disconnect the PTO system or auxiliary idle control.
    • Ignition ON, engine running.

    Is a concern present? 

    Yes No
    GO to  AN2. REFER to the Owner's Literature provided with the PTO system or auxiliary idle control to verify correct operating procedures, entry conditions, and diagnostic information.
  2. AN2 CHECK THE PTO INPUT FOR A SHORT TO VOLTAGE 
    • Ignition OFF.
    • PCM-B connector disconnected.
    • Ignition ON, engine OFF.
    • Measure the voltage between:
      (+) PCM-B Connector, Harness Side (-)
      PTO - Pin 6 Ground
      PTO2 - Pin 4 Ground

    Is any voltage present? 

    Yes No
    REPAIR the short circuit. Clear the PCM DTCs.
    REPEAT the self-test.
    REFER to the Owner's Literature provided with the PTO system or auxiliary idle control to verify correct operating procedures, entry conditions, and diagnostic information.
    Clear the PCM DTCs. REPEAT the self-test.
