A/T Controls - Hum/Buzz After Ignition Is Switched Off

6F35 TRANSMISSION - HUM/BUZZ AFTER IGNITION
KEY IS TURNED OFF

FORD:
2013 Escape

ISSUE
Some 2013 Escape vehicles equipped with a 1.6L or 2.0L engine and having a vehicle build date of 7/20/2012 or earlier or equipped with a 2.5L engine and having a vehicle build date of 9/20/2012 or earlier may exhibit a transmission solenoid hum/buzz noise for up to two (2) minutes after the ignition key is turned off. Testing and analysis has confirmed this noise will not affect vehicle reliability or long term durability. A new calibration is available to prevent this condition.

ACTION
Reprogram the PCM to the latest calibration using Integrated Diagnostic System (IDS) release 81.03 and higher. This new calibration is not included in the VCM 2012.9 DVD Calibration files may also be obtained at the website.

WARRANTY STATUS: Eligible Under Provisions Of New Vehicle Limited Warranty Coverage Warranty/ESP coverage limits/policies/prior approvals are not altered by a TSB. Warranty/ESP coverage limits are determined by the identified causal part and verified using the OASIS part coverage tool.
