Automatic Locking Retractor
NOTE:
The seat belts at the rear outboard positions can lock if the seat backrest is returned aggressively to the upright position.

NOTE: Compressing the backrest foam allows more of the safety belt webbing to retract into the safety belt retractor.
Compress the backrest foam pad.
- Allow the safety belt webbing to retract as much as possible into the safety belt retractor.
- If the safety belt does not extract after doing this, proceed to the next step.

- Tighten to 70 Nm (52 lb-ft).
- If the safety belt does not extract and/or the safety belt anchor bolt cannot be installed, install a new safety belt retractor. Refer to SAFETY BELT RETRACTOR - REAR, OUTBOARD .
- If the safety belt does not extract and/or the safety belt anchor bolt cannot be installed, install a new safety belt retractor. Refer to SAFETY BELT RETRACTOR - REAR, OUTBOARD .
- Tighten to 70 Nm (52 lb-ft).
- Check the active restraint system for correct operation. Refer to the appropriate Functional Test. REFER to COMPONENT TEST procedures .
