Selector Lever

All Vehicles 

1. Apply the parking brake.
3. On both sides.

   MKX 

6. NOTE: Damage to the floor console rear trim panel may occur if cardboard is not used to remove the lower floor console side trim panel.
   NOTE: Position a piece of cardboard between the lower floor console side trim panel and the floor console. Remove the lower floor console side trim panel and cardboard simultaneously.

   On both sides.

11. NOTE: Ambient light is located at front of selector lever trim panel.

    If equipped.

    1. Detach the ambient wiring harness from the floor console.
    2. Rotate the ambient light counterclockwise and remove the ambient light from the floor console.

14. NOTE: Damage to the floor console rear trim panel may occur if cardboard is not used to remove the lower floor console side trim panel.
    NOTE: Position a piece of cardboard between floor console side trim panel and the floor console. Remove the lower floor console side trim panel and cardboard simultaneously.

    On both sides.

18. 1. Carefully, lift up the rear of selector trim panel and detach the retaining clip.
    2. Pull the selector lever trim panel rearward and detach the 2 retaining clips.
19. NOTE: Ambient light is located at front of selector lever trim panel.

    If equipped.

    1. Detach the ambient wiring harness from the floor console.
    2. Rotate the ambient light counterclockwise and remove the ambient light from the floor console.

20. All vehicles 

24. • To Install, tighten to 5 Nm (44 lb-in).
25. To install, reverse the removal procedure.
26. Adjust the selector lever cable. For additional information, refer to SELECTOR LEVER CABLE ADJUSTMENT - 6F35  or SELECTOR LEVER CABLE ADJUSTMENT - 6F50/6F55  .
