Steering Gear: Installation
- Install the steering gear, position the front stabilizer bar and install the new steering gear bolts finger tight.
- Check and install the steering gear boot on steering gear as shown.
- With all 3 bolts finger tightened, complete all 4 stages of the tightening sequence first on bolt 1, then bolt 2 then bolt 3 as shown below.
- Tighten the steering gear bolt.
Torque:
Stage 1: 81 lb.ft (110 Nm)
Stage 2: Loosen: 360 °
Stage 3: 41 lb.ft (56 Nm)
Stage 4: 180 °
- Tighten the steering gear bolt.
Torque:
Stage 1: 81 lb.ft (110 Nm)
Stage 2: Loosen: 360 °
Stage 3: 41 lb.ft (56 Nm)
Stage 4: 180 °
- Tighten the steering gear bolt.
Torque:
Stage 1: 81 lb.ft (110 Nm)
Stage 2: Loosen: 360 °
Stage 3: 41 lb.ft (56 Nm)
Stage 4: 180 °
- Tighten the steering gear bolt.
- Install the front subframe.

- If a new steering gear was installed, download the PSCM configuration from the scan tool to the new PSCM.
