Selector Lever Cable: Installation

  1. 1.

    Position the selector lever cable and connect the selector lever cable retainer.

  1. 2.

    Install the selector lever cable retainer bolt.

    Torque

    : 62 lb.in (7 Nm)

  1. 3.

    Connect the selector lever cable retainer to the transmission.

  1. 4.

    Connect the selector lever cable to the selector lever assembly.

  1. 5.

    With the selector lever in DRIVE, install the selector lever cable retainer bolt and connect the selector lever cable to the selector lever.

    Torque

    : 62 lb.in (7 Nm)

  1. 6.

    Position the manual lever in DRIVE.

    1. 1.

      Rotate the manual lever clockwise until it stops.

    1. 2.

      Rotate the manual lever counterclockwise 3 detents.

  1. 7.

    Unlock the adjuster.

    1. 1.

      Gently pry the latch up.

    1. 2.

      Push the lock tab to slide it down.

    1. 3.

    NOTE: After locking the adjuster, pull back on the adjuster to make sure it is securely installed.

  1. 8.
    Connect and lock the adjuster.

      With the adjuster lock tab released, connect the selector lever cable end to the manual control lever.

    1. 2.

      Push the lock tab upward to lock the transmission selector lever cable adjustment lock.

  1. 9.

    Verify the vehicle starts in PARK and NEUTRAL only and that the reverse lamps illuminate in REVERSE.
