DTC U0428: Invalid Data Received From Steering Angle Sensor Module: Action

This DTC sets if the SECM receives invalid data in any of the following messages; clockspring module tape temperature sensor fault, clockspring module tape status signal fault, clockspring module high power switch status or clockspring module ignition switch input invalid. Using a diagnostic scan tool, RETRIEVE and DIAGNOSE all SASM DTCs. REFER to Anti-Lock Brake System (ABS) And Stability Control . If no DTCs are set in the SASM, the concern may be intermittent. SET the ignition to OFF. DISCONNECT and INSPECT all SASM electrical connectors and related in-line connectors for corrosion, bent pins, pushed-out pins and spread terminals. REPAIR as necessary.
