Main Control Cover: Removal

  Remove the air cleaner. REFER to: Air Cleaner 1.6L Ecoboost Refer to: Air Cleaner 2.0 L Ecoboost Refer to: Air Cleaner 2.5 L Duratec

  With the vehicle in NEUTRAL, position it on a hoist. REFER to: Jacking and Lifting - Overview

  NOTE: If an internal problem is suspected, drain the transmission fluid through a paper filter. A small amount of metal or friction particles may be found from normal wear. If an excessive amount of metal or friction material is present, the transmission will need to be overhauled.

  Remove the transmission fluid pan drain plug and allow the transmission fluid to drain.

  • Install the drain plug.

    Torque

    : 106 lb.in (12 Nm)

    Detach the wiring harness retainers, detach the coolant hose retainer and position aside the wiring harness and coolant hose.

  • 2.
    
    Remove the nuts and the bracket.

  Remove the bracket nut, loosen the clamps and remove the CAC tube.

  Disconnect the wiring harness and the upper coolant hose retainers.

  Loosen the clamp and position the CAC tube aside.

  Disconnect the electrical connector and detach the wiring harness retainers.
