Removal And Installation

Navigator front seat 

1. 1.
   
   Remove the side shield cover from the cushion side shield.

   1. 1.
      
      Release the side shield cover retainers.

   1. 2.
      
      Disconnect the electrical connectors.

Expedition front seat

   NOTE: To avoid damage, do not pull from the inboard side of the front seat cushion panel shield.

   Remove the front seat cushion panel shield.

   1. 1.
      
      Release the upper retaining clips working from the outboard side toward inboard side.

   1. 2.
      
      Release the lower retaining clips.

   Remove the side shield cover front screw.

   NOTE: Side shield cover with a seat control switch, manual lumbar and recliner shown, others similar.

   Remove the side shield cover.

   1. 1.
      
      Pull forward on front of the side shield cover to release the front retainers.

   1. 2.
      
      Pull outward on the side shield cover to release the side retainers.

   1. 3.
      
      Pull forward to release the side shield cover rear guides.

   1. 4.
      
      Disconnect the electrical connectors.

All seats 

1. 5.
   
   
   NOTE: Navigator memory SET switch shown, Expedition similar.

   Release the locking clips and remove the memory SET switch.

   To install, reverse the removal procedure.
