Selector Lever Cable Adjustment

  1. 1.

    With the vehicle in NEUTRAL, position the vehicle on a hoist. Refer to Jacking and Lifting .

  1. 2.

    Place the selector lever in the DRIVE position.

  1. 3.

    Remove the retainers and the transmission shield.

    Clean the cable adjustment lock of any debris.

  1. 5.

    NOTE: To prevent selector lever cable damage, do not apply force to the selector lever cable between the manual control lever and the selector lever cable bracket.

    Rotate the cable adjustment lock upward and remove the selector lever cable from the manual control lever.

  1. 6.

    Place the manual control lever in the DRIVE position.

      Rotate the manual control lever clockwise until it stops.

    1. 2.

      Rotate the manual control lever counterclockwise 3 detents to the DRIVE position.

  1. 7.

    Connect the selector lever cable to the manual control lever and move the locking tab down.
    • Listen for the audible click, then push back on the locking tab to verify it is locked.
    • Pull back on the selector lever cable to verify it is installed correctly to the manual lever.

    Install the transmission shield and the retainers.

    Verify the vehicle will start in PARK and NEUTRAL and the backup lamps illuminate in REVERSE.
