Steering Wheel: Removal
NOTE:
Removal steps in this procedure may contain installation details.
- 1.
Depower the SRS. Refer to: Supplemental Restraint System (SRS) Depowering .
- 2.
Remove the driver airbag. Refer to: Driver Airbag .
- 3.NOTE: Make sure that the road wheels are in the straight ahead position.
- 1.
Lock the steering wheel.
- 2.
Disconnect the steering wheel electrical connector.
- 3.
Remove the bolt and the steering wheel.Torque: 35 lb.ft (48 Nm)

- 4.NOTE: Make sure that the clockspring rotor does not rotate.NOTE: Make sure that the clockspring pins are not bent or damaged.
Tape the clockspring rotor to the outer housing to keep it from rotating. Use the General Equipment: Adhesive Tape
