Side Obstacle Detection Control Module: Removal

NOTE: If installing a new SODL or SODR, it is necessary to upload the module configuration information to the scan tool prior to removing the module. This information must be downloaded into the new SODL or SODR after installation.
Using a diagnostic scan tool, begin the PMI process for the SODL or SODR following the onscreen instructions.
- With the vehicle in NEUTRAL, position it on a hoist. Refer to: Jacking and Lifting - Overview .
- Remove the rear lamp assembly. Refer to: Rear Lamp Assembly .
- Remove the rear quarter panel moulding. Refer to: Rear Quarter Panel Moulding .
- Remove the screws.
Torque: 13 lb.in (1.5 Nm)
- Disconnect the electrical connectors and position aside wiring harness.
- Remove the push pins.
- Remove the bolts.
Torque: 28 lb.in (3.2 Nm)
- Gently flex the rear bumper cover to access the SODL or the SODR.
- Disconnect the electrical connector, remove the screws and the SOD.
- If required. Remove the retainer and the SOD bracket.
Torque: 93 lb.in (10.5 Nm)
