AF1: VERIFY THE PCM VIN

Ignition ON, engine OFF.
Using a diagnostic scan tool, compare the VIN in the PCM to the VIN plate on the vehicle.

Does the VIN in the PCM match the VIN plate?

Yes	No
Go to AF2.	RECONFIGURE the PCM. FOLLOW the instructions on the diagnostic scan tool.

AF2: VERIFY THE ABS MODULE PART NUMBER

Using a diagnostic scan tool, retrieve and record the ABS module part number.
Compare the part number retrieved to the part number in the parts catalog or equivalent.

Is the correct ABS module installed in the vehicle?

Yes	No
CONFIGURE the ABS module. REFER to Module Communications Network .	INSTALL a new ABS module. CHECK OASIS for any applicable service articles: TSB, GSB, SSM or FSA. If a service article exists for this concern, DISCONTINUE this test and FOLLOW the service article instructions. If no service articles address this concern, INSTALL a new ABS module. REFER to Anti-Lock Brake System (ABS) And Stability Control . ORDER a replacement ABS module and INCLUDE the RVC on the form. If this is a Ford paid repair, INCLUDE the RVC on the warranty claim form. When complete, SELECT the "X" in the top right corner to CLOSE this procedure.

CONFIGURE the ABS module. REFER to Module Communications Network .

INSTALL a new ABS module.
