Transfer Case

All vehicles 

    • Remove the retainers and the underbody shield.

    • Remove the retainers and the stone guard.

    1.5L EcoBoost (132kW/180PS) - I4/1.6L EcoBoost (132kW/180PS) - Sigma 

  2. Index mark the driveshaft and the pinion flange for reference during installation.

  3. Remove and discard the driveshaft-to-pinion flange bolts.

    1.6L EcoBoost (132kW/180PS) - Sigma 

  4. Remove the CAC tube clamps and CAC tube.

    2.0L 

  5. Remove the rear driveshaft. Refer to: Rear Driveshaft .
  6. Remove the CAC tube clamps and CAC tube.

  7. Remove the catalytic converter. Refer to: Catalytic Converter .

    All vehicles 

  8. Remove the PTU heat shield bolts and the PTU heat shield.

  9. Remove the RH front halfshaft. Refer to: Front Halfshaft RH .
  10. Disconnect the PTU vent hose.

  11. Remove the PTU support bracket bolts and the PTU support bracket.

  12. Remove and discard the upper PTU bolts.

  14. Remove the PTU.
