Steering Column Motor: Removal

NOTE: Steering column telescopic motor shown, steering column tilt motor similar.

  1. 1.

    Remove the steering column. Refer to Steering Column .

  1. 2.

    With the steering column upside down on a workbench, detach the telescopic motor electrical connector pin-type retainer from the steering column.

  1. 3.

    Remove the telescopic motor screws.
    • To install, tighten the bolt to 6 Nm (53 lb-in).

  1. 4.

    Remove the telescopic motor screws and the trunnion nut capture bracket.
    • To install, tighten the bolt to 7 Nm (62 lb-in).

    Remove the telescopic motor.
