Possible Causes
- Module configuration (ABS module and PCM)
- ABS module
- AF1: VERIFY THE PCM VIN
- Ignition ON, engine OFF.
- Using a diagnostic scan tool, compare the VIN in the PCM to the VIN plate on the vehicle.
- Does the VIN in the PCM match the VIN plate?
Yes No Go to AF2. RECONFIGURE the PCM. FOLLOW the instructions on the diagnostic scan tool.
- AF2: VERIFY THE ABS MODULE PART NUMBER
- Using a diagnostic scan tool, retrieve and record the ABS module part number.
- Compare the part number retrieved to the part number in the parts catalog or equivalent.
- Is the correct ABS module installed in the vehicle?
Yes No CONFIGURE the ABS module. REFER to ANTI-LOCK BRAKE SYSTEM (ABS) MODULEANTI-LOCK BRAKE SYSTEM (ABS) MODULE . INSTALL a new ABS module.
CHECK OASIS for any applicable service articles: TSB, GSB, SSM or FSA.
If a service article exists for this concern, DISCONTINUE this test and FOLLOW the service article instructions.
If no service articles address this concern, INSTALL a new ABS module. REFER to ANTI-LOCK BRAKE SYSTEM (ABS) MODULE .
ORDER a replacement ABS module and INCLUDE the RVC on the form.
If this is a Ford paid repair, INCLUDE the RVC on the warranty claim form.
