Fuel Rail: Installation

1.

NOTE: Use O-ring seals that are made of special fuel-resistant material. The use of ordinary O-rings seals can cause the fuel system to leak. Do not reuse the O-ring seals.

NOTE: The upper and lower fuel injector O-ring seals are similar in appearance but are not interchangeable.

Install the new fuel injector O-ring seals and the fuel injector retaining clips onto the fuel injectors. Lubricate the new fuel injector O-ring seals with clean engine oil.

Install the fuel injectors to the fuel rail.

Install the fuel rail, then install and tighten the fuel rail retaining bolts.
- Tighten to 10 Nm (89 lb-in).

4.

Connect the fuel injector electrical connectors.

Connect the fuel rail fuel feed tube quick connect coupling, refer to Fuel System - General Information .

6.

Install and tighten the fuel rail jumper tube bracket bolt.
- Tighten to 10 Nm (89 lb-in).

7.

Install the upper intake manifold, refer to Engine - 3.5L Ti-VCT .

8.

Connect the battery ground cable, refer to Battery, Mounting and Cables .

9.

Pressurize the fuel system, refer to Fuel System - General Information .
