Fuel System Pressure Release

Pressure release 

  1. NOTE: The fuel pump fuses are located are located in the Rear Power Distribution Box locations F19 and F20.

    Remove the fuel pump fuses.

  2. NOTE: It may take several minutes before the engine stalls.

    Start the engine and allow it to idle until the engine stalls.

  3. Crank the engine an additional 20 seconds to make sure the fuel system pressure has been released.
  4. Turn the ignition to the off position.
  5. When the fuel system service is complete, install the fuel pump fuses.
  6. NOTE: It may take more than one key cycle to pressurize the fuel system.

    Cycle the ignition key and wait 3 seconds to pressurize the fuel system. Check for leaks before starting the engine.
