Diagnostic Aids
DTC U0428:00 indicates a concern with the signals transmitted by the SASM and used by the EPAS system. Do not install a new EPAS assembly if DTC U0428:00 is set.
DTC U0428:62 indicates the steering angle value sent from the SASM does not match the internal EPAS steering angle. All functions requiring the steering angle message are disabled.
The presence of DTC U0428:00 or U0428:62 prevents the active park assist system (if equipped) from activating. If set during an active park assist event, the event is terminated and the active park assist system is deactivated.

| 00 | VERIFY SASM installation, REFER to Steering Wheel And Column Electrical Components , Removal and Installation. REINSTALL as necessary. CARRY OUT a self-test of the SASM. If the diagnostic scan tool indicates the module is not responding, REFER to Module Communications Network to diagnose the network communication concern. If SASM DTCs are present, REFER to Steering Wheel And Column Electrical Components to diagnose the SASM system fault. If there are no DTCs in the SASM, SET the ignition to OFF.
