Selector Lever Assembly: Removal

NOTE: Removal steps in this procedure may contain installation details.
  1. Disengage the 4 retaining tabs and lift the selector lever bezel up and disconnect the electrical connectors.

  2. Remove the bolts.

    1. Remove the clips.
    2. Remove the clip.
    3. If equipped. Disconnect the wiring harness connector. Remove the gearshift housing upper cover.

    All vehicles 

  3. Remove the retainers, release the clips and remove the gearshift housing upper cover.

  4. Remove the floor console. Refer to: Floor Console - Vehicles With: Single Passenger Seat . Refer to: Floor Console - Vehicles With: Double Passenger Seat .
  5. Remove the retainers, release the clips and remove the gearshift housing lower cover.

  6. Disconnect the wiring harness bulkhead connector from the bracket and position the harness aside.

  7. Remove the bolts, push pin and the gearshift housing support bracket.

    Torque: Nm

  8. Remove the selector lever assembly.

    1. Remove the nuts.

      Torque: 89 lb.in (10 Nm)

    2. Remove the bolts and disconnect the selector lever electrical connector.

      Torque: 80 lb.in (9 Nm)

    3. NOTE: Do not pull or pry on the selector lever cable or the selector lever cable end may be damaged. Use a screwdriver and turn the screwdriver as shown to pry the cable end off the post as close to the post as possible.

      Remove the bolt and, using a screwdriver, pry the selector lever cable end from the selector lever and disconnect the selector lever cable clip from the selector lever assembly. Remove the selector lever assembly.

      Torque: 62 lb.in (7 Nm)
