DTC/Symptom Chart: Notes
Diagnostics in this service information assume a certain skill level and knowledge of Ford-specific diagnostic practices. Refer to appropriate DIAGNOSTIC METHODS in appropriate service information.
NOTE:
Unlisted DTCs are often retrieved as a result of incorrect repair procedures. Before attempting any repairs for unlisted DTCs, check the vehicle service history for recent repairs. For RCM DTCs not listed in this chart:
- Repair all other RCM DTCs before attempting to repair any DTCs not listed in this chart.
- If no other RCM DTCs are retrieved, CLEAR the RCM DTCs and REPEAT the self-test. If the RCM DTCs return, VERIFY that the RCM is the correct part number for the vehicle application, and INSTALL As-Built data following scan tool instructions under Module Programming > As-Built.
- CHECK OASIS for any applicable TSBs and SSMs. If a TSB or SSM exists for this concern, DISCONTINUE this test and FOLLOW TSB or SSM instructions.
- Inspect the RCM and RCM connectors for any damaged pins or connections.
