Front Seat: Removal

NOTE: Driver seat shown, passenger seat similar.
NOTE: Removal steps in this procedure may contain installation details.
  1. WARNING: Turn the ignition OFF and wait one minute to deplete the backup power supply. Ignition must remain OFF until repair is complete. Failure to follow this instruction may result in serious personal injury or death in the event of an accidental deployment.

    If a seat side air bag module or safety belt buckle pretensioner or safety belt inflator SRS fault is present, continue to Step 2. Otherwise, turn the ignition off, wait at least one minute and continue to Step 3.

  2. NOTE: The air bag warning indicator illuminates when the correct RCM fuse is removed and the ignition is on.

    Depower the SRS. Refer to: Supplemental Restraint System (SRS) Depowering and Repowering .

  3. Remove the front seat shield bolt caps.

  4. Disconnect the front seat electrical connector and position the wire harness aside.

  5. NOTE: Follow the unique instructions or graphics for this step in the installation.

    Remove the bolts and the front seat.
